8 Years. 8 Lessons. What building a digital marketing agency from the ground up really taught us.
Lesson 1: Consistency beats perfection every time. Clients spent way too long waiting until things were just right before hitting post. The accounts that win aren't the most polished, they're the most present. Show up, even when it's not perfect.
Lesson 2: Your network is your net worth. Literally. Almost everything we've built, our best clients, our strongest partnerships, our biggest opportunities, came from a real relationship, not a cold pitch. Invest in people before you need anything from them.
Lesson 3: The strategy that worked last year won't always work this year. Algorithms shift. Platforms change. The agencies that stay relevant aren't the ones with the best strategy from 2020, they're the ones willing to unlearn and adapt. Staying nimble is the strategy at Shored Up Digital.
Lesson 4: Data doesn't lie. Your gut doesn't either. We use both. We've made our best decisions when analytics and instinct were in the room together. Numbers tell you what happened. Experience tells you why.
Lesson 5: Clients don't just hire skills. They hire trust. You can have the best deck, the best case studies, the best pricing, and still lose the client to someone they simply believed in more. Trust is the product. Everything else supports it!

We've watched local agencies blow up overnight and disappear just as fast. We chose steady. We chose sustainable. Eight years later, we're still here, and so are our clients.
