The kids were babies when I chose this path.
It’s been 6 years.

There were moments I wanted to walk away. My vision, my community, and my family kept me going.

On June 19th, Juneteenth, I’m opening the permanent doors of Ashleigh Bakes Daily. 🖤

From pop-up dreams to a permanent address. 🥹

We are celebrating Juneteenth this year by opening our doors.
Freedom to me looks like building something of your own, on your own terms. This bakery is a love letter to my community, my culture, and everyone who showed up for me from the very start.

Tomorrow, May 30, is our last day at 307 W Main St Pop Up from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM or until sold out.

While we will close our doors for a few weeks during this final stretch, we will remain open for catering, delivery, and shipping orders.

We are happy to keep baking for you as we settle into our permanent home. 🖤

The 307 W Main pop up was a beautiful
beginning in Downtown Durham, but now my time is up.

Being in this incubator was everything I imagined it would be and I’m grateful for the past year!

Now, we’re building something permanent
at 111 W Main St.
We will have an expanded menu,
stay a while seating,
multiple ovens,
and extended hours to bake even more joy for our communIty.

This season has been so full of happy moments:

Carrington Middle School 6th graders visited and it was incredible!

I was on the news!!

Installed flooring with some unstoppable ladies help (couldn’t have done it without you

I got to bake for a beautiful wedding. 🥰

Picked up some amazing finds at Habitat for Humanity including the beautiful flooring 😁.

I spoke at and rid a long standing fear of public speaking.

I make this delicious strawberry bread with my youngest.

Had Thai with the oldest.

I ate some much-needed anxiety curing brownies along the way, because this is all new for me.

So many more things along the way

I am so grateful for the community that shows up to help.

In awe of life daily and happy to be here.

Grateful for the process and the progress. 🫶🏾

111 W. Main is coming to LIFE. 🥹

Electric has been run, tub has been demolished, walls have been removed and added, ovens ordered for install. It all feels unbelievable, but it’s real.

Spending this time tearing down what was here and building what will be, is a dream come true.

I wouldn’t be here without community support. Every person who shares, buys cookies, comments is part of how we got this far. To those who have donated, I am deeply thankful.

I can’t put into words how grateful I am that will be donating their incredible skills to transform our space from top to bottom.

I’ve always dreamt of having a place where people come to slow down, taste something made with love, and leave feeling full in every way.

It hasn’t been easy and is scary every day, but you have to keep going, no matter what people say, or the fears that bubble up, if you are passionate about it, KEEP GOING.
