Happy 1st Birthday, Duckie! 🎈

As I stood at the counter on a mid-July morning, watching the baby monitor, I painted this and thought of all of the future birthdays we will share around this plate.

I thought about the teenage years, where he might be too embarrassed to sing with his parents. Maybe even a birthday where he skips out on us altogether.

Hopefully one day, his wife will walk into the room holding this plate as his children gather around him jumping with excitement at the candle-lit flames.

Then, I thought about the adult birthdays where we may not be sitting next to him anymore. He will see my handwriting and remember how much we love him and prayed for his arrival that evening in September.

Until then, he is my happy little baby boy who fills our lives up with giggles and squeals. I am forever thankful to be your Mama 💙

Prepping smarter, not harder! 🍝

This week we introduced Duckie Boy to Spaghetti using Banza chickpea pasta! He loved it, and I loved the amount of leftovers!

Making little pasta cubes are a game changer. These are 4 ounce ice cube molds that I have portioned the pasta out, frozen them, and then dinner is done when I need it most. No last-minute scrambles, just happy bellies.

Who says meal prep has to be fancy? This freezer stash is my best friend 😂

​We’ve been relying heavily on these DIY frozen teethers made with Chobani Plain Greek Yogurt and Smash Foods Chia Seed Jam. It’s hands down my baby's favorite combo right now. (Peep that almost empty jar 😂)

​As a mom, nothing beats a trick that solves two problems at once.

The icy texture cools down his sore gums, while the wholesome Greek yogurt and jam packed with chia seeds make sure he’s getting good, clean nutrition.

10/10 recommend keeping a batch of these in the freezer! 🧊
