Last night I attended the Detroit premiere of A Fine Line, a documentary highlighting women chefs and their role in the restaurant and food industry, including the dynamic story of the director’s own mother, a chef and restaurant owner. There were a lot of amazing Detroit women chefs and food business owners in attendance who spoke on a panel after the film. I was completely stunned and honored to be chosen as the recipient of a mentorship with a Detroit culinary hero (hello, !👋) and a stipend of $1000, based on an essay response that I wrote and submitted. When the director introduced me to come up on stage, she quoted the part in my essay where I said I wanted to know if I still had what it takes to kick ass as a pastry chef in a professional kitchen, or in a business of my own. As a mom of a 3 yr old and 9 month old, age 40, on hiatus from my pastry career, relatively new in town, seeking community and next steps for a creative culinary outlet: I am so excited to be among these women shaping the culinary landscape of Detroit and so grateful to be given an inroad to become part of it myself. I wish I had a picture of myself with Lisa Ludwinski of Sister Pie, but I actually didn’t get to meet her yet because she had to peace out early to go to bed, because baker’s hours! (And, boy, do I hear that! 😉) Thanks again, and for believing in my ability to still kick ass and the wonderful opportunity, to for providing the stipend and to Lisa at for agreeing to participate in this. My head is still spinning! 📷:

This is me standing in front of a cluttered kitchen sink and then but a few of my accomplishments so far since 6 am. Am I tooting my own horn? You bet! 😂 My last farmers market sale is tomorrow and I’ll be glad to finish strong, pack up my table and go home, knowing I can rest and give my babies all the attention and bake all the fall things to eat and share with friends and family. #💪💪💪

It’s been a delicious summer and I’m looking forward to the last Park Market of the season on 9/21. Just leaving a few snaps here of some things I made and shared with family and friends while not baking for markets. September Market menu will be posted soon!

I’m bringing all the things to Grosse Pointe Park Market today from 9am-1pm, praying the humidity & heat doesn’t wilt everything! 🙏🙏🙏😬 Mostly 💪💪💪🎉🤩🥳🙌 though because I did this, and I am doing it, and showing up with quality baked goods I’m proud of ❤️💪. (sorry for all the talking emojis – it’s early and I have gotten very little sleep the last couple days!) @ Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan

Say hello to my CETTGF Cookies! Stands for "Can't Even Tell They're Gluten Free!" 😉 That's not really what I call them-- they're simply Chocolate Chip Cookies and Oatmeal Cherry Coconut cookies (made with organic oats), they are gluten free, and they are so delicious, you really can't tell they don't have wheat flour in them. I'll have them at this Saturday's Park Market!

This Saturday, July 20th, I'll be at the Grosse Pointe Park Market from 9am-1pm-- rain or shine! I'll have raspberry rhubarb pies and hand pies, sour cherry (picked 'em myself!) hand pies, stone fruit frangipane galettes, gluten free coffee cake and truffle brownies, French macarons, cookies, bars and tarts. Whee! See you at the Park Market!

Two oven mitt high-five!

Hi Friends!

Things are cranking up over here as I prepare for my second-ever Grosse Pointe Park Farmers’ Market this Saturday, July 20th. Last month at the first Park Market several customers who stopped by my booth asked where my business was located and I replied with a smile, “You’re looking at it!”

While I have a degree in Pastry Arts and have worked in restaurants and cafes as a pastry chef in Denver, Colorado, I am a recent Michigander and my main title these days is “Mama.” Sharing delicious baked goods at a local farmers’ market is something I’ve wanted to do for years and this summer just seemed like the right time to try my hand at it.

I am not awesome at social media, so bear with me if this Facebook site and my Instagram reflect my lack of savvy in these departments. Mostly I hope people will enjoy tasting the desserts I’ve enjoyed making for family and friends for years, and I look forward to meeting and talking to customers. I’m not sure where this little business will take me yet; perhaps a steady custom order business? Stay tuned, check out my menu for this Saturday and see you at the Market!
