This pineapple rum boozy bell is going to a wonderful couple celebrating a birthday today!! The customer called to share that they'd kept my information for months (after receiving a cake as a gift) just waiting for the next birthday to order. After ordering, the customer said that they would not wait till the next birthday to order again. 😁Happy to help them celebrate life!

How I have slept💤 on this combination, I don't know, but while I was perusing the local liquor store for boozy bundt ideas, I realized I have not tried baking one of my favorite combinations... chocolate and coffee.
Keep voting on the other flavor/s (pecan is in the lead!!), but know that This.is.happening!💥 What say you?😁

Why I bake: Last year, I was asked to bake a pineapple upside down rum cake for a customer. She wanted to celebrate and also honor her mom's memory and tradition of baking upside pineapple cakes for their birthdays. This year, that same wonderful customer asked for another pineapple upside down rum cake, but this year, with a twist: she is a new mom-to-be (!!!), so she asked if I could make it rumless. New Challenge accepted!! I test baked, tweaked, my family and neighbors taste tested and viola!
She loved it! So happy I could do that for her during a such a special time in her life❤️

Why I bake: it happened! I have a customer who has ordered over 14 cakes from me -- for himself and as gifts to others. Some of the recipients have become customers as well.🙌🏾🙌🏾 For Christmas, he ordered the 9" red velvet layer with pecans, a new flavor for him. (His go-tos are the carrot cake, salted caramel whiskey, chocolate rum, and sour cream pound.)
As I met him with his cake, we greeted each other warmly and spoke briefly about his recent travels. As I turned to leave, he Joyfully told a man who was approaching him, "This is my cake lady!!" It was so heartwarming to hear him refer to me in a way that means -- where I am from -- I can bake! All is well with the world.😁❤️

Hey!! This was taken a little after midnight this morning. It reminds me of the people. The people who help fill the tables with their trust and orders, the people who work to assemble boxes, batch, finish cakes, pack cakes, arrange orders, and more, but most important, add joy, fun and order to this busiest and most demanding of seasons. Much accomplished and much to be done, but it helps to pause and remember what it's all about. Doing it for the happy!
