Yarn Hording, Coffee loving, Mom of 3
Hey, I am Becky, a busy wife and mom to 3 amazing kids. I fell in love with coffee about 20 years ago working in a coffee shop. It is from my time as a barista I learned to appreciate coffee, the different methods of brewing, and why we pay so much for a really awesome cup. I would love to go to a coffee cupping (or tasting), visit local roasters here in Florida, and just sit and sip. My deep desire is to own a coffee shop with yarn and books. A place I can be proud to call my own. Of course, time and money, plus business know-how are a few obstacles. ^_^
Yarn has been a big part of my life since I learned to crochet. I did try knitting about 13yrs ago, but learning something new and watching 2 young kids was very hard. It was not until about 8yr years ago I picked up the old knitting needles and tried again. I LOVED IT. I got a book from the bookstore and taught myself to knit. I have knitted socks, shawls, wraps, doll clothes, throw blanket, pillows, etc.
I also dabble in knitwear design. My goal is to make a name for myself in the knitting world with my designs. I have currently completed two patterns and sold one copy each. Not bad for a newbie in a very competitive world. However, I have been very blessed with the people I have met. They do not mind showing the ropes, answering questions as I get my feet wet, and just being supportive. I have two patterns in the works for a throw blanket and a shawl. My W.I.P. (work in progress) is a pair of fingerless gloves for my 10.5yr and shortly after some secret birthday gifts for her. ^_~ shhhhh
How does coffee tie into this world of mine. It just does. To me coffee, yarn, and good friends all make my day full of love. I will share pics and blogs about my love for coffee, brewing, sharing my opinions, and just enjoying life. I do not have a schedule, yet (kids are all in the middle of end of the year tests and fun) for when I will post or blog. I hope to have a schedule during the summer.
