Hi Bakery Riders!!!

I work with Lazarex Cancer Foundation, your local, Danville-based non-profit supporting today’s Cancer Fighters. (www.lazarex.org)

I'm reaching out to inform you that the Pancreatic Cancer Victory Tour (PCVT) is coming to Danville in June!! See the following Live News Coverage:
http://www.wwltv.com/videos/news/2015/04/20/man-bikes-7200-miles-for-pancreatic-cancer-awareness/26058511/

and recent article: http://www.mercurynews.com/my-town/ci_28053224/around-danville-local-man-pedals-cross-country-against

Eric will ride into Danville on Tuesday, June 9th. The 10th will be a rest day/ media interviews/ possible fundraiser and welcoming party.
He will ride out Thursday morning, the 11th, when we are hoping to get as many local cyclists as possible to join him for launch day.
I’m thinking we should have the meetup at Pete’s Coffee in Danville. I’m going to chat with the manager there and see if they would like to get involved.
We are still deciding how to go about this, so any advice is welcomed!

I'm hoping Bakery Riders will help us get the word out about Eric’s journey and effort, since he’s raising funds and awareness for a local cause. We are trying our hardest to get as many fellow cyclists as possible to join us for a welcome celebration on Wednesday and maybe even ride with Eric for a bit Thursday morning as he heads up North.

I currently have the Pleasanton Pedalers and Old Spokes onboard.

Again ny advice/support you can offer would be so very much appreciated.

Thanks a million, and cheers to LIFE!!

Fellow bakery riders,
The construction on Isabel Ave has made this portion of the bakery ride EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Too many near crashes are happening weekly and an easy way to solve the problem is to make a slight route change. We are proposing to turn right on Concannon off Isabel, make the 2nd (?) left onto Arroyo and take this up to Portola where we take a left and then can connect up to Collier. It may add a little bit of extra mileage, perhaps around 2 miles, but it is worth the added safety it will provide all of us. We will give it a try next week and we all can evaluate its effectiveness then. Please spread the word to any bakery riders you may know.

Off-Season Options: 1) regular route 2) Palo, Redwood, Pinehurst 3) Palo, Redwood, Skyline, Grizzly Peak, El Toyonal (the Griz Group!)
Let's remember to regroup either at the top of Palo OR the bottom for sure, then roll to the tennis courts together. Regroup at the "top" of Redwood and then again at the Pinehurst turn. No one wants to go all the way back alone! Have a great Thanksgiving!!!
