Interrupting your normal bakery content to share my heart for a minute 🩵
Back in June I made a decision to start my bakery stand again. I had a feeling, a pull on my heart to have this little side gig be more than that. I felt a call to be part of a community, and felt like I had a real shot at making my little bakery dreams come true. Not only that, but making my dreams come true for my family. Honestly, through it all I’ve been in disbelief that people will actually drive into our neighborhood to visit our porch and grab something that I baked. 🥹
June-August were crazy. Like mind blowing honestly. And then comes September. September has been…. Slow. And last night I went to bed feeling a little discouraged. A little down. A little confused. So when I got up and opened my devotional and the title of today is “Finish What You Started” I said, … okay Lord. I hear you.
If you know me, you know I have a habit of becoming a victim of burn out and walking away. I will not let this be another one of those things.
“Inspiration without implementation is a figment of our imagination. Finishing breeds supernatural confidence, and it rebuilds the broken bridges of inner distrust that we’ve allowed to deteriorate over the years.”
Running a business means learning to stay the course through peaks and valleys. It’s honestly what will set you apart from everyone else. When the trends fade, when the traffic slows… do you stay the course? Do you continue to go after your dreams and adapt?
I’m going to take the last few weeks of slow and thank the Lord for the break and rest. I’m going to take it as opportunity to see where I can grow, improve and get ready for what I know is going be an amazing fall.
My dreams, my calling, my vision just keep growing and I’m so excited for what the Lord is doing here.
