Don’t cut bars or brownies in the pan, as you can ruin your pans (and dull your knives). Make a “sling” with parchment paper by cutting two lengths of parchment that will fit inside the pan and over the sides. Grease your pan, center the parchment in the pan and stick it to the greased area, following the contours of the pan. Grease the center on the first piece of parchment. Center the second piece (making a plus sign) and follow the same procedure. Fill, bake and once it can be removed from the pan, carefully slide a spatula around the edge and lift with the parchment. Let it finish cooling on a rack, then slice.

We are officially into the holiday season! To eggnog or not to eggnog? Which is your choice? If you do eggnog, do you add "spirits"?

Eggnog is a rich, chilled, sweetened, dairy-based beverage. It's traditionally made with milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks, and whipped egg whites (which gives it a frothy texture, and its name). Spirits such as brandy, rum, whisky or bourbon are often a key ingredient.

These eggnog macarons just scream holiday season! They are delicious. They go great with coffee or with an eggnog drink.

It's National Bundt Day! The Bundt pan became popular after Ella Helfrich won the Pillsbury bake-off with her "Tunnel of Fudge" baked in a Bundt pan. After the bake-off, Pillsbury ended up with more than 200,000 requests for Bundt pans. The pans eventually surpassed the Jello-O molds to become the most sold molds in the country.
