ONE MONTH left of market season 🤯 Which is crazy because I feel like we JUST got started!

As a reminder, I will NOT be at the Cary Farmer's Market this Sunday, August 30th.

BUT… you all absolutely SOLD ME OUT by 10:30 on sunday 😂 Lines started before we were even set up, and inventory flew off the shelves faster than Katrina could count cash and I could tap cards. 😂

I’m still shell-shocked and incredibly grateful. ❤️

Remaining market dates:
• Sept. 6 — Labor Day weekend
• Sept. 13 — TBD, but most likely!
• Sept. 20
• Sept. 27 — Cary Main Street Fest 🥳 + LAST MARKET!

‼️ A little market reality check: With school starting, Labor Day, and, well… LIFE, I’ll be lowering my volume for the rest of the season.

I’ve been bringing 150–190 bread products to the market… and that’s not including muffins, cookies, danishes, scones, etc.

It’s a lot of f*cking bread. 😵‍💫😂

I know this disappointed some of you last weekend 😬 and I truly understand. But one person can only handle so much
The whole point of creating Rainey Dough Co. was to have a fun, creative outlet—and somewhere along the way, I let that slip away trying to keep up with demand.

So I’m choosing a volume that’s actually sustainable for me. ❤️

I realized today that I’ve never officially shared my bake space.

Hereeeee she is in all her pride and glory. ❤️

Over the winter, “we” — aka my husband and a contractor friend 😂 — finished our basement and added a designated room just for my baking.

When we bought this house, we always thought this space would eventually become a second primary bedroom/bathroom or some sort of in-law suite. You know… something practical that would increase the value of our house😅

But something I’m really good at is having alottttt of hobbies. 😅

Gardening. Canning. Chickens. Baking. The list goes on…

I am really good at keeping myself busy doin’ a whole lotta nothin’. 😂

Then eventually, baking started taking over our ENTIRE house.

A 30-qt mixer sitting in the middle of the kitchen. 2 refrigerators in a 10x10 kitchen. This butcher block table sat where an actual kitchen table probably should’ve been.Folding tables stretching from the dining room into the living room.Dough bins getting kicked around the kitchen all week long.

And did I mention there were also a 1 and 2-year-old toddlers in the mix? 😅
In the kindest possible way… it was a HOT MESS, to say THEEEE least.

My husband has always supported every one of my hobbies—from building my chicken coop, to fencing in my garden, to eventually turning this room into the bake space of my dreams. ❤️

So when he helped me pull the trigger on my Simply Bread Co. oven…It was go time.
This little hobby of mine—the thing that gave me somewhere to pour my energy during a really hard postpartum season—had somehow become a business I never even dreamed of having.

And none of it would look like this without him.

So when you see me at the market wearing my hat that says,“I’m the primary bread loser of the family.”
…it’s quite literally true. 😂 And I’ll wear that hat proudly.

Because to me, that stupid little saying is the funniest and most perfect way to describe the love, support, time, sweat, and the occasional “what the hell has she gotten us into now?” that he has poured into this hobby-turned-business right alongside me. ❤️
He may not be the one making the bread… but he sure as hell helped build the life that lets me do it. 🥹❤️

The sourdough chocolate chip cookie that you all know and love just got an upgrade!

🥜Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Chunk🥜

I don’t know why it feels weird to love on or “review” my own products… but it does… even though, it’s like.. my job 😂

BUT…..

This last week I got pretty sick. 🤢
(I’m better now, I’m fine. It’s fine. We’re all fine. I promise-)

There was not much I could eat without feeling worse. So, I pulled out a loaf of my classic high protein sourdough bread.

Let me tell ya- It was exactly what I needed. Light enough to handle. But more importantly, carried far more nutrition than a regular ole slice of bread.

It was soft. Light. But satiating.
Everything I needed in that moment.

So. I urge you.
This next week, maybe think about switching your classic sourdough bread for my high protein classic sourdough. ❤️
