I have fresh milled flour and farm eggs today!

It may be a bit gloomy outside but we have several plants blooming and babies growing. We have a MUCH smaller garden this year but happy to see several veggies thriving. Growing these trellis roses has been one of my favorite flowers to watch climb. Look at our sweet baby chickens (that we hatched earlier this year) growing like the weeds they love to hunt for snacks in. Our bees have been very active lately searching for more food/fuel to make that delicious and beautiful honey for our family (and hopefully yours). I think we’ll make a blackberry syrup tonight for Dutch babies in the morning 🖤

I have fresh milled Hard White, Rye, Soft White, Einkorn Wheat in the stand today as well as TWO beautiful dozen farm fresh chicken eggs.

🐝 Hive to Honey 🍯

We are very new to raising bees but we have the absolute best mentors to help us along the way. We had one hive that was full of capped honey so we went ahead and harvested it.

We ended up with 2(ish) gallons of honey from just one early harvest hive. WOW!

💛 We now include our bees as pets on the farm when speaking about them.

…and yes, if our bees continue to produce like we’ve seen this far into the season, I will absolutely put some honey in the stand. There isn’t anything much better than local honey for all your physical and mental needs 😘
