Battle of the Buns 🍔🥊
In honor of Mother’s Day, I have to share a recent kitchen adventure with my sweet mama. She was prepping for her upcoming Pokeno hosting duties and decided pulled chicken sandwiches — complete with scratch-made coleslaw and homemade buns — were the move.
Naturally, she suggested we make the buns together. What could possibly go wrong? 😂
Now, I’m a “follow the recipe exactly the first time” kind of girl, then I edit as my heart desires. My mom? She prefers to let the spirit lead immediately. A pinch of this, a splash of that, no measuring cup in sight.
Before long, we found ourselves fully immersed in what can only be described as … The Battle of the Buns.
After lots of laughing, flour flying, and a little competitive judging, I hate to admit it … Jeri may have taken this round. But let the record show: she fights dirty and makes “suggestions” while you work. 💜
Honestly though, these are the moments I’ll cherish forever — messy kitchens, full hearts, and making memories with Mom.
