This is a four layer devil’s food cake with black cocoa buttercream. All of the spheres are edible.

The bottom layer is a triple layer 10 inch white almond bottom cake. The top tier is a triple layer 8 inch white almond cake.
The filling and icing are Swiss meringue buttercream. The bottom tier has a stenciled design. The entire floral design is hand piped American buttercream. The baby laying in top of the moon is edible and is made with gum paste. Bon Appetit!

 the theme for this cake is Golden Years …this is a birthday cake for a 90 year-old wonderful man! It’s a two tiered handmade scratch vanilla almond cake. The bottom is a triple layer vanilla almond 10 inch cake. The top tier is the very same but 8 inches. I used Swiss meringue buttercream for the exterior and filling. The glass on the side of the cake and on the top are made from isomalt. It’s the same stuff they used to make suckers or jolly ranchers. I just heated it up to molten lava temperature, colored it with edible golden luster, and then poured it over a various size bottles and waited till it came to room temperature.
