In today’s episode, we’re talking about job loss and the unexpected lessons that can come with it. Our careers are an important part of our lives, but they are not our identities. Still, it’s easy to get so wrapped up in a title or role that we forget who we were before we got there and everything we’ll take with us when we leave.

We reflect on navigating career transitions, separating your worth from your work, and celebrating the wins, growth, losses, and lessons along the way.

Whether you’ve experienced job loss, are considering a career change, or simply need a reminder that you are so much more than what you do for a living, this episode is for you.

Fun fact… Coach Irene and her family have fostered 10 puppies and two of their mommas through the years.

Beyond being dog lovers, they’ve owned dogs since her first year of marriage twenty years ago; all these years later, they love giving back as a family and opening their home for temporary support.

This simple act aids dog shelters that are in need of emergency housing for the pups they rescue!

But … why else does she do it? Funny enough…. this giving back sometimes feels like self-care.

* Fostering puppies keeps you very present and in the moment.

* Innocent puppies bring so much joy in the now.

* A family collectively works together as they get attached and learn to say goodbye in healthy ways.

* Coach Irene gets to slow down surrounded by all things adorable.

Plus, this is something she gets to do for her and without being attached to any other identity such as mom, ceo, wife, boss, podcaster and so on….

In your life, are you finding ways to be in the now? Do you spend time in an identity reserved for your likes and not only in ways that keep you in service to other humans? Think travel, art, nature… animals!

If you need more ways to bring calm presence into your life… consider finding your “foster puppy” moment.

Doesn’t have to be fostering dogs, but rather anything that offers us moments of being in the now, feeling joy, and in that, finding love in the simplest of forms. 🫶

✨ **September 1st. The FINAL QUARTER.**

Wait… how is it already September?! 😳

We’re officially entering the last chapter of 2026, and I have one question for you:

How are you going to show up for yourself for the rest of this year?

Not how everyone else needs you to show up.
Not what you should have accomplished by now.
Not what your January self thought your life would look like.

**YOU.**

Maybe you need to finish what you started.
Maybe you need to let go of what no longer serves you.
Maybe you need to finally make yourself a priority.
Maybe you need to rest.
Maybe you need to take the damn leap.
Or maybe you simply need to give yourself some grace for everything you’ve carried this year.

There are still 4 months left.
That’s 4 months to pivot.
4 months to dream.
4 months to make moves.
4 months to choose yourself a little more.

You do NOT need to wait for January 1st to start again.

So, MUJER, take a deep breath. 💗
Look at where you are.
Look at where you want to go.

And then ask yourself:

✨ How am I going to show up for ME in this final quarter?

Let’s finish 2026 intentionally—not perfectly.

And remember… you don’t have to do it alone. 💕
Come level up with us.

Back to school + wedding anniversaries + caring for a home, career, pets, & family means a lot is going on and I wouldn’t want it any other way! *L

For those of us who are moms… school is back in session and Fall is upon us. 🍂

And as they say, the days are long, but the years are FAST.
Whew. Is that not the truth?

As a working mom, I often feel like I don’t have enough time with my kiddos. I try to be intentional, but if I’m being honest, I’m often rushing through one thing because I’m already thinking about the next.
Work.
School.
Dinner.
Activities.
Homework.
Laundry.
Bedtime.
Repeat. 😅

And sometimes I wonder… how do we balance it all?
The truth is, I don’t think we do it alone.
We learn from each other. We ask for help. We lean on our families, our friends and our communities.

It takes a village.

As a first-gen Latina, it has taken me a while to really understand that—and I’m still figuring it out.

My girls are growing up, and I definitely miss when they were little. But I’m also loving watching them become independent little humans.

This weekend, one of my girls made breakfast for our entire family—eggs and pancakes! She took out the griddle, mixed the batter and did the whole thing solita.
And I didn’t intervene.
I just watched her.
And I felt SO proud. 🥹
Not only because she was confident enough to do it, but because in that moment I realized: we’re doing something right.

My husband and I are raising girls who are learning how to take care of themselves, contribute to the family and trust themselves.

Maybe balance isn’t about finding the perfect amount of time for everything. Maybe it’s about being present for the moments that matter… and giving ourselves grace for all the moments we can’t.

So here’s your reminder, mamá:
You don’t have to do it all perfectly.
You just have to keep showing up. ❤️
And sometimes, showing up means stepping back and letting them do it solita.
