A few years ago I started making treats for our dog, Bella, as I was not satisfied with the options available. From ingredients I could not pronounce to quality issue stories in the news, I wanted to make sure I knew exactly what Bella was eating.
Fast forward a little bit, during a visit with my grandparents, my grandmother had posed the question of why I didn’t sell the treats I make for Bella. In my head I was like why would I do that? Of course the rest of that trip I kept thinking about what she said. I have the time but I don’t need more money so why start a business.
A few months went by and I started thinking about it again but this time in a different way; if I do this how can it be impactful? I had been looking for a way to give back in our community so why not help the local shelters. I could start a business that would help other dogs through the sales. Immediately the name All Fur Them came to mind as I was doing this for them (all the dogs waiting for loving homes) with the goal that at least half the profits would go to local shelters and rescues.
