Today, a customer gave me one of the sweetest compliments I could ever receive. She said visiting our store is an experience—that even if you’ve never walked through our doors before, it somehow feels like you have. It feels like home. 🥹💚

This was her second time coming in simply to sit, enjoy a loaded or hydration drink, and spend a little time with her daughter.

Her words stayed with me all day. Of course, I want you to enjoy the food, drinks, and products we offer—but knowing that you also feel welcomed, comfortable, and at home here means more than I can say.

Thank you for choosing our little store as a place to slow down, share a drink, and make memories together. That is exactly what I hope Against the Grain will always be. 🌾

Today we’re shining the spotlight on one of our very own Columbus craftsmen and one of the most talked-about vendors in our store—McNutt & McNutt!

His beautiful woodwork combines creativity, skill and old-fashioned craftsmanship. Each piece is handmade with its own natural character, making it both useful and truly one of a kind.

His gorgeous cutting and charcuterie boards always catch our customers’ attention, but his handcrafted sourdough bread bow knives have become an absolute staple at Against the Grain. These knives are specially designed to glide through the crisp crust of a sourdough loaf while helping keep the soft inside from being crushed. They’re practical, beautiful and one of the products customers ask us about most often! 🥖

McNutt & McNutt also creates unique plaques, birdhouses, frames, bowls and other wooden pieces—each reflecting the time, patience and talent that go into genuine handcrafted work.

We’re especially proud to carry his products because they’re made right here by someone from our Columbus community. When you purchase one, you’re taking home something created by local hands while supporting a hometown craftsman. 💚
