i’m so so sad to see this news. Kenny was my rock when the bakery was open. He was always there for a chat and to buy a scone and put a $2 bill in the tip jar. I’ve kept those and put them under both my boys’ pillows for the tooth fairy and insisted they never be spent, only saved. Kenny saved me. He’d come over and hold Baby Clyde and tell him tales, which were actually peptalks for me, while i knocked out some prep. i meant to come visit and show him Clyde, now nearly seven, and try to thank him or begin to repay him somehow. but i’ll never get that chance.
i hope he knew just how much he meant to us all!
It is with intense sadness that we share the news of our incredible leader and friend, Kenny Greene’s passing. He was without a doubt one of the most loved artists in our community. North Village Arts District and The District will never be the same without him. He touched every single life that came across his path. Thank you for the love you gave us all dear friend. 💔💔
