Lee's Summit, you make for a REALLY fun afternoon.
We stumbled into the Lee's Summit farmer's market almost on accident 3 years ago, because the Wednesday market we had planned on had fallen through, and I had already changed my work schedule to be off on Wednesdays. More than just a market to fill our schedule, we found an amazing community who welcomed us, encouraged us, invested in us and allowed us to stay and make our own little place here. We love our quiet farm, and we love downtown Lee's Summit. It's the best of both worlds π
Today we grabbed our ninja turtle shirts, matching side ponys, and hit the Vintage Fair at Green Street for some awesome finds. Then we stopped by the first Thrift Tea event benefiting Foster Kids KC, which was an absolutely amazing event full of fun finds, delicious tea, and some women who are really doing cool things in and for this community. We made about our millionth stop at Well Read, where we always feel like we can take a minute to relax, visit, browse amazing books, and play trains, and finally made time to visit our amazingly welcoming neighbors Llywelynβs Pub LS for dinner, and topped off the day at Poppy's π¦π
The most notable thing about a community is not its amenities, it's always the people working to make a place welcoming and fun, and downtown Lee's Summit, you have SO many of those people, and we absolutely love you for it! π
