This massive cake weighing over 25lbs was a home run for vanilla-lovers everywhere: from top to bottom complete with a vanilla sponge, vanilla bean frosting, simple syrup, and fluffy vanilla buttercream under the decorative but edible vanilla fondant, and 2 dozen decorated vanilla sugar cookies.

I am delighted to FINALLY share the ecstatic news with you all that
Take a Whisk has been invited to become a vendor with Tied Together Collective in DeBary!!!😄

Please join us in celebrating their grand opening on April 18th at
430 Summerhaven Dr DeBary, FL 32713
where you can find your favorite
Take a Whisk treats and other amazing small businesses “tied together” in a beautiful, love and kindness-driven space.

From then on, you can come in, relax, and enjoy time inside on Sundays to shop, and have a welcoming atmosphere with friends to complete your weekends.

How will it for Take a Whisk?
💜You won’t have to wait as long for treats in-between the week!
💜Everything as always will be made entirely from scratch.
💜There will still be a random rotation of old and new assorted treats you fell in love with at markets. The pun is still a purpose!
💜Banana Bread large singles and mini trios will be available both in traditional and gluten-free/vegan options for all dietary needs.
💜We will still be at our regular markets with hopes to expand to additional markets soon where you can still chat, share your baking stories, provide ideas to see your edible vision come to life, and continue building our cherished connections we’ve developed.

I can’t begin to express the sheer gratitude and joy I feel so have this incredible opportunity to share with you all with Tied Together Collective. They came right when I felt like giving up…the very same weekend your communities nearly sold me out two days in a row. This was no coincidence. Graduation Day!

This is what photos looked like with older phones, kids.😅🫠

December 18th, 2014. Today the anniversary of my portfolio from graduating with honors in Las Vegas (where I’m from). In addition to university GED, I also earned my degrees in the Science of Baking and Pastry and Culinary Management in a highly accelerated program, doing so in just 14 months. All this will working a full-time job. To say that was a challenge is a gross understatement. Was I crazy? Absolutely! (I still am).😬

Culinary school does not entail that I’ve gathered everything there is to learn in the culinary industry. In fact, it’s far from! It simply gave me the tools to learn that baking is indeed a science. There’s a reason methods exist and how they work. It taught me cost analysis, inventory data, and knife skills. It gave me the building blocks to bud into the Sous Chef and small business owner I am today by learning discipline, pallets, food handling safety, attention-to-detail, and so much more.

While I keep the methods in the science of baking and pastry close, I’ve learned so many incredible things from others all around the world, including from fellow prep cooks, home bakers, and even young aspiring chefs still in grade school!

It’s the reason I do what I do! Why everything is made from scratch, never with artificial ingredients, and always baked from the heart. From then to now, it’s been a delight to “Take a Whisk” serving you. 👩🏻‍🍳💜
