Once again the weather isn’t looking great for the Sango Night Market, but I’m still holding out hope that it will clear up in the afternoon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Either way, I’ll be there with some yummy treats! It runs from 4:00-8:00 and there is space for you to go inside and relax if it starts raining too much. 3575 Sango Rd. Hope to see you there!!!

Obviously this isn’t macaron related, but my daughter is baking banana bread to raise money for her mission’s trip to El Salvador. They are mini loaves and she is selling them for $6. One of the questions I get asked the most is how to properly store macarons. Macarons are best when enjoyed at room temperature, however, to keep them fresh and extend their shelf life, it’s best to store them in the refrigerator or freezer.

The most important step to follow is to store them in a structured airtight container. I personally use these GoodCook containers from Target. They sell them in many different sizes, but these larger ones hold about 60 macarons. If you don’t store them in an airtight container, the shells will get very crunchy after a couple of days.

They can be refrigerated for up to a week and frozen for months. Research I’ve done says they are still the same quality for up to 6 months, but I have only personally tested them to 3 months. When freezing them it is best to move them to the refrigerator the day before you need them to allow them to gradually thaw. Remove the macarons from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes to an hour before you enjoy them to allow them to get to room temperature. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight or heat.

Writing it out, it seems like a lot, but it’s actually pretty easy to store them to extend their life.

If things get quiet around here, I promise I am still here. I’ve got about 100 batches of macarons to bake over the next 6 weeks or so 🙈 Right now I am only accepting orders for August (limited) and beyond.

If you have an event in June or July that you were wanting macarons for but haven’t placed your custom order yet, I will have opportunities to buy already done macarons through markets, pop ups, and extras from other customs during those months. Make sure to keep an eye on the page so you don’t miss anything.
