Hi everyone! It has been a long time since I have written anything here. Life has a way of keeping me busy, but I thought I would take a few minutes and catch you all up on where life has taken me since I last posted.After adventuring to Grand Rapids for a year and chefing at MDRD with so many talented people, I made the decision to head back to Travese City. Traverse City has always had my heart.❤️ I am blessed to have landed at Modern Bird...a relaxed, fine dining restaurant in downtown. I have the honor of being back doing what I love most....creating beautiful desserts with Emily, one of the owners of the restaurant. Since being there I have had the privilege of assisting with the Womens' Dinner during the Traverse City Wine and Food Festival. There I got to work along side Emily from Modern Bird and many, many talented women in the culinary industry. A couple weeks ago Modern Bird was recognized by the New York Times as being one of the 50 best restaurants in the United States. What an honor to be able to a part of that recognition. Along with my 'day job', I am still baking for others. This weekend I just did a wedding for a dear friend and his now wife.
