The holiday season is upon us! I can't even remember when I ate my last Lenell cookie at this point but it breaks my heart to think about it every year.

Does anybody want this? It is an EMPTY 1 lb Lenell Shortbread Cookie Christmas tin probably from the 90s. The copyright date on the bottom says 1995 but I have no idea if that's when the tin was actually sold. To be clear there are NO COOKIES in here. There are a few scratches on the side but it is in pretty decent condition otherwise.

BREAKING MAURICE LENELL NEWS:

As far as we know, we are the first to report on this...

Just four weeks ago, on November 21, 2019, Hearthside Food Solutions, LLC, the current owner of the Maurice Lenell brand, filed a trademark application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), serial number 88702043, for a particular stylized form of the Maurice Lenell logo. See the attached screenshot from the USPTO website.

You can visit http://tess2.uspto.gov/ to conduct your own search in the trademark database and confirm the authenticity.

What does it mean? Well, maybe nothing... for now. But from our point of view, this could only indicate either 1) Hearthside is planning on directly reviving the Lenell brand in the near future (or maybe not-so-near future), OR 2) Hearthside is actively interested in maintaining active registrations of Lenell trademarks in order to prepare them for sale to an outside buyer - who would then hopefully revive the brand in some form.

We have reached out to Hearthside for comment, but they are notoriously difficult to get a hold of.
