Am I the only one that needed to read this again today?
Reposting from my friend Lisa H Gibson
If the enemy can distort how we see ourselves, he can control how we live. Many people are not limited by lack of ability; they are limited by wrong identity. They carry greatness, but they think small. They are anointed, but they feel unworthy. They are called, but they keep shrinking.
Understand this: you will never rise above the image you hold of yourself. If you see yourself as broken, you will keep accepting broken patterns. If you see yourself as rejected, you will keep tolerating relationships that dishonor you. If you see yourself as weak, you will keep running from battles you were created to win. The devil does not need to destroy us if he can convince us that we are nothing.
So… fight for your identity like your destiny depends on it, because it does. Every day, intentionally delete the thoughts that contradict God’s Word. Stop repeating what pain said. Stop agreeing with what people labeled you. Stop building your life around what happened to you. You are not your trauma. You are not your mistakes. You are not your past. You are who God says you are.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
II Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
