Ellen's Pet Treats

Ellen's Pet Treats I make dog and cat treats in my kitchen in Charlotte, North Carolina, using all "people" food. You I make dog, puppy, cat and kitten treats in my home.

Our wonderful pets are such a vital part of the family I think they deserve homemade treats, not just store-bought ones with chemical preservatives and fillers of various kinds. You know how easily you can tell the difference in a homemade fresh cookie over one that came from the grocery store in a package. When you start with all fresh ingredients, mix them with love and bake them to perfection i

n your own oven, you KNOW the taste will be better than anything you can find in a store! I make a variety of flavors that pets really enjoy, using real peanut butter, cheese, bacon, apples, bananas, blueberries, mashed potatoes, beef, salmon, etc. Please go to my website to see a number of the tastes available. I don't use any chemical preservatives in making these. Rather, I keep all the baked treats in a very slow oven for hours to thoroughly dry them. This way they stay fresh as long as possible. I do recommend keeping the treats in the refrigerator or even the freezer for the longest freshness. I ship all orders by Priority Mail that are to an address farther than 20 miles from Charlotte . Those within 20 miles I will deliver for a small fee.

I attended the Carolina Poodle Rescue event at Camp Croft State Park near Spartanburg, South Carolina, yesterday (Saturday, May 10, 2014) thanks to my friend Laura Sholander. Her dog, Billy, just LOVES getting my treats, and while he is not a poodle, he was a rescue dog that she got from "the Poodle Farm" 2 1/2 years ago. I was tickled to see all the pets and their people at the event, and of course shared samples of my treats with everyone I could reach.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the needs of elderly poodles who have been rescued. Due to their age and the attendant potential for medical problems and developing frailties, these wonderful dogs may not be readily adopted by families. They may face living in crates or cages for the balance of their lives unless loving fostering families will help. Please do what you can for this cause, and for humane treatment of all animals.
