High School besties reunited tonight for a beautiful wedding! Flourgirl Sweets was back in business tonight for a lifelong friend and her soulmate to become one!

Amber, you were a stunning bride! Thank you for allowing me the honor of helping make your day extra sweet!

I’m back!!! (Well, only wedding cakes!)

I’d like to officially open my calendar for a few cakes here and there. I’d like to ease back into baking as it’s been TWO years since I’ve been able to help make your events a little •sweeter•!

Flourgirl Sweets Life Update (sorry for the lengthy post):

Hey, folks! I wanted to hop on here real quick and give a little life update (especially for those of you that aren’t Facebook friends with me on my personal page). I posted a while back that I would be taking some time off to get ready for the arrival of my sweet baby boy.

Brice Fortson made his grand arrival on April 22nd. He was 9lbs & 22” long. He has completely stolen my heart. He’s grown so much already so here’s a little flashback picture to his newborn photos.

Several people have reached out to me recently about making cakes & cupcakes for them. While I would absolutely love to take y’all’s orders…I’ll have to unfortunately decline as of right now.

I’ll be as transparent as possible so that I can make it known why I’m taking a break. There’s 3 main reasons.

During my pregnancy, I developed carpal tunnel syndrome. I was told it would go away after delivery but it has not as of right now. I’m currently needing time to heal so that it doesn’t worsen.

My husband and I are building our first home & the weekends are great for shopping around for things we need. Cakes quickly can tie up my weekends pretty quickly. And as I still work a full time job through the week…these extra days are needed.

And thirdly…my sweet mama was diagnosed with cancer 3 weeks before I delivered Brice. She is currently taking chemo, and making her steps towards beating this yucky disease. As mentioned before…cakes can tie up weekends pretty quick & I’d love to just take time off for a while with family & do all the things we wanna do.

I know I don’t need to explain myself but I’d like to be transparent with everyone to let y’all know what’s going on in my personal life & that I hope to be back somewhat soon! I’ll make a post later on when I start taking orders again.

⭐️ PSA: Here’s my most recent cakes and cupcakes over the past few days! The snoopy one was done today for a 50th birthday, and the others were from Saturday for a sweet baby shower and a cute little boy’s 5th birthday!

The snoopy cake was the last cake I’ll be making for a while as I am taking some much needed time off to get some things ready for the arrival of Baby Brice due in May!

I will no longer be taking orders until further notice. Thank you all so much for your support and I can’t wait to start making your events a little sweeter again!

Thanks for understanding! Pray for our little growing family in the months to come.
