I can't keep this secret! I know I said we had big announcements coming 4/15, but I simply cannot wait!!!
1) We bought a freeze dryer! What does this mean for the bakery? FRESH fruits and herbs in every single loaf (even when out of season)❤️. The farm to table movement is something I am very passionate about and it is one of the many things that fueled my vision for the bakery.
When we purchased our new home last fall, "visions of sugar plums danced in my head." We have a 2400 sq ft garden space, with established strawberries, raspberries; & grapes; horseradish and mint... we even have asparagus. I planted a LOT garlic in November which has come up beautifully. And who knows what else we might find🤷🏻♀️. Point being, fresh is always better and we can extend that to you year round now!
We will likely have excess herbs and veggies to offer fresh throughout the summer and fall, in tandem with what we freeze dry for later use, we plan to make our excess available to you for purchase.
Which leads me to my next BIG announcement. The dough dealer *might* have been overzealous in her seedling starts for said garden🤷🏻♀️. So we will also have some seedling starts available for purchase very soon! I'm sure many of you have felt the pain of buying plants at big box or home improvement stores only to have weak plants that die or fail to produce. And greenhouse prices can be CrAzY expensive😱
We spent the winter strategically planning to move toward offerings for our community that still fall under Cottage kitchen/farmer's market guidelines to help YOU keep costs down and our hard earned paychecks local.
What that means for YOU, is the opportunity to purchase nursery quality plants, fresh homemade bread with locally sourced and/or fresh milled grains and the good Lord willing... some fresh produce.
We will go LIVE next week after everyone recovers from TAX day, we have we recouperated from our 2000 mile "Grand" Adventure and we have time to answer all your questions.
We MIGHT even begin offering some fun giftables i.e. freeze dried candies and treats!❤️❤️❤️. We experimented with candy this week and if you have never experienced it- it is such an unexpected FUN treat!
