Many of you know, I have a FT job in corporate America working in crop insurance compliance. My day job has to come first. And while I always have nooks and crannies I can fit in some dough (as long as I'm not traveling to Timbuktu), this week has been a little different.

I got a "last minute" phone call on Wednesday giving me the opportunity to serve our community, and OF COARSE I said "YES"!!!❤️

Not only did I accept the challenge to bake 100+ cookies in 36 hours, but I was given the opportunity to participate in yet another community event this week❤️🙏🙏

If you didn't attend the Business Expo at the Civic Center tonight, you missed out! There was SO much information presented FOR the community! It wasn't just some really wonderful "press" for the Smokehouse Bakery... it was an opportunity to network and learn about the future opportunities for Oliver County.

I have absolutely ZERO interest in the "politics" surrounding our community's future... but I DO have every interest in building lasting relationships with our current customers, future customers and the potential of expanding our business to all of you, and those who are coming and want to GROW our economy!

So yes, a few orders are a LITTLE behind MY projected schedule 📅.... they will be filled before the weekend ends🥰❤️.

And maybe cookies will have to be put on the new menu again.... 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

HUGE thanks goes out to the "powers the be" for giving our humble little cottage bakery a little bit of the "spot light" tonight🥰❤️. Great things can come from local businesses working together toward a common future goal!!

It is hard to believe our area kiddos went back to school today!🚍📚🎒

Breakfast is an important part of their day! In honor of all the families going back to school, our feature of the week is Old Fashioned Sourdough Pancake Mix, $12/bag.

Each bag yields approximately 32 pancakes. Simply add milk, egg, oil/butter and vanilla for a classic old fashioned pancake 🥞 OR add in your favorite berries or chocolate chips🍓🫐!

Order today by messaging us directly. Orders will be available for pick up Friday 8/21 after 4 pm.

We truly have the BEST fans❤️❤️. The vendors may have been sparse, but I greeted lots of familiar faces this morning and a few I'd never met before... some brand new customers, some long time customers and a little of everything in between.

We SOLD OUT by 10 am... 36 loaves of bread, pans of cinnamon rolls, bagels, pretzel bites... P**F GONE.

I really didn't know what to expect or plan for... but I am humbled and so glad I fit it into my schedule. I gained some valuable insight into our community and I know what to plan for next time.

Can I get a show of hands? WHO WILL BE ATTENDING the Farmer's Market on Sunday beginning at 8 am?

We are working to bake a variety of your favorites, a few specialty items and we will also be taking bread orders! Come early to grab your favorites, while supplies last!

The weather forecast seems to be in our favor with a high of 78⁰ and a 5% chance of rain... can't get much better than THAT!

We will be accepting cash (NO BIG BILLS, please), debit, credit and Venmo.

Come out and show your support of our local area makers and small businesses!

There will be no "FEATURED" OFFERING next week, since we will be setting up for the Farmer's Market next Sunday!

We will continue to fill regular orders off the menu.
