✨ EXCITING NEWS! ✨

I’ve officially launched the JMJ Lettering Etsy shop!! My first listings are these three sticker designs—inspired by the three kinda of stickers I’m most interested in every time I get a new notebook. I’ll have all three with me at the ’s conference next month. I’ll also be posting a few of my prints on the Etsy shop, too!

These stickers are SO BEAUTIFUL and it’s such an exciting feeling to hold my work in my hands like this. The ~link is in my bio~, friends!

Thanks to the friends who have encouraged me over the past ten-ish years to do this, I am so happy I finally have. You know I thrive on friends’ encouragement so I am finding myself very grateful right now!

Happy fall and happy , folks!

I’m going to be at the Maryland Catholic Women’s Conference next month as a vendor with this and other prints!

Anyone else going to be there? I’m most excited to hear and .wounds. If you’ll be there, come say hi! (And let me know if you have any requests for designs?)

Hi i have no chill so here’s just a full picture for my grid 😅😂💙

If you know someone in the Baltimore area who needs some handlettering, I’d love to work together!

One of my newest creations is a logo for my Substack! The picture is my favorite part, even above the lettering—I opened up and had a photo shoot with four beautiful books that share something about me.

The upper left corner is The Life You Save Might Be Your Own by Paul Elie, a thrifted (with ) copy of a spiritual reflection on Flannery O’Connor (he takes the name from one of her short stories), Thomas Merton, and Dorothy Day. Next to it I placed a copy of the Norton Anthology of Women’s Literature that I picked up at a used bookstore some time ago (to look pretty on my shelf, ngl).

The lower right hand is one of my and my mom’s favorite books, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, which she bought for me and I devoured my freshman year of highschool. This copy, though, is a hardback I thrifted and was part of the centerpiece at my mom’s table at my wedding.

The bottom left book is probably the most precious of all: my great-grandmother’s copy of Chesapeake by James A. Michener given to me by my aunt.

Both as nostalgic items and reading escapes, I just really, really love these books! And the picture is beautiful—even with my future home office’s bare subfloor and the not-pictured balled up old carpet in the corner of the room 😅

The Bookish & Distracted Catholic (which is conveniently my initials, if you keep Dakota/Durbin and bold the T in Catholic 😂) is random musings exploring the ways that literature and ADHD life can give insight to the Catholic faith. Any post is about one, two, or all three of those topics, my most recent being just a love letter to libraries 📚📖

I’ve got the link in my bio if you’d like to follow along! Posts were previously kind of sparse and dependent on school breaks, but I hope to be posting somewhere around once a week moving forward.

Today I attended my first-ever Maker’s Market!! It was so awesome to sell some of my work, meet other alumnae vendors, and enjoy a beautiful day at Mount de Sales 💙

Very grateful for for hosting this event and even more grateful to my husband for his encouragement and support (swipe to see him trying to protect his incredibly sunburnt neck 😂😅👨🏻‍🦰)

Hello friends! A little flash sale of old lettering pieces here ✨ Eight pieces from the past few years.

The first three (2 Cor 12:9 & “To Jesus through Mary) are $10 each, and the later pieces (John 2:5 through the Felix Culpa piece) are $15. No cost for mail 💌

They’re already made and I only have what I have, I’m not making more—though I am working on digitizing the John 2:5 piece 🍷 If you know anyone interested, please send this their way!

I’m going to be working on creating a few digital pieces that can be downloaded or printed on cardstock, AND I’m toying with some wood burning ideas—so this might not be the last time I’m selling some works in this space!

Thank you guys for sharing and support of my lettering work over the years! 🥰

A round up of some things I have lettered lately for some colleagues turned friends 💙

🎶 First, a print for .ajoyfulsong with a picture I took of the back when I worked at the Catholic Center

🖋️ This week I got to use an amazingly fancy quill pen to letter the cover page and headers for

🍪 I also got to try my hand at cookie decorating and lettering with icing

Looking forward to some mindful days ahead with more lettering than I’ve been doing lately, but this was a start!
