God help my fat a**!!! This is what this recipe should be called! BEST BLONDIES EVER!
I love blondies. I love brownies too, but blondies are just special. Anyway. I made a “blondie” recipe yesterday that I pulled from a google search, “best blondie recipe” it was called. Nah. Taste was good, but they were a dense cake. Not a blondie. So I had to seek help from a trusted and all time favorite Instagram account, for the rescue!
It did not disappoint! I should have know better and used her recipe before. Best ever blondie recipe right there! Thank you Tessa!
I’m writing the recipe as I made, but I recommend checking her website for every little detail and trick on how to make perfect blondies, brownies, pancakes or any baking! I stirred the butter with the sugar on the stovetop, but she doesn’t say that in the recipe. I thought it would elevate the butterscotch flavor!
1 stick of butter (113g)
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla
Pinch salt
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup bread flour (can sub for more all purpose flour)
6 oz chocolate chips, nuts or chopped chocolate
Melt butter on a small saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and keep stirring until mixture is darker in color and butterscotch fragrant. Transfer to a bowl and let it cool a bit. Add egg and yolk, vanilla, salt and blend well. Combine flour and lastly, the chocolate chips. (My batter was warm, so my chocolate chips melted and it turned into a blondie with chocolate swirl! But it was really good regardless!)
I baked mine at 350F in a 8x8 square pan lined with parchment paper for 18-19 minutes (her recipe says 25 minutes, but I’m always scared to overbake!)They will look undone when you take them out of the oven, but they will keep firming as they cool. Slice when cooled. Try to eat only one square!!!!
