Mardi Gras is around the corner, and as usual, I’m craving a fresh, true King Cake.

I refuse to buy them at the grocery store (just ewe!) and wont’pay $50+ for one shipped from New Orleans (I’m too cheap).

So, this NOLA girl decided to make her own King Cakes!

This one has a cinnamon filling (my favorite). And it’s topped with sugar I colored, not sprinkles. It gives such a better mouth feel.

I am in heaven!! 🥰🥰

I’ve become OBSESSED with making sourdough bread.

My mom gave me starter that is said to be two generations old.

I’ve made 9 loafs of bread in just over a week. 😳

So far I’ve made the basic water, four salt version. And also a milk and honey version.

Both are so soft and delicious.

It’s definitely a PROCESS. But totally worth it. 😁
