Its been a little quiet on the page, but I genuinely cannot thank everyone enough for the kind words and messages regarding Keira. So thank you all🩶

Although hibernating, I've still been baking and trying new things this winter. Sourdough Pretzel Bread has become a new favorite🥨 Pair it with some homemade butter🤤

Alain also received a fancy pants cake for his birthday🎂 A browned butter sourdough chocolate chip cookie base with a layer of pistachio cream and topped with a flourless chocolate torte. Extra rich and delicious🥳

Moose my beloved Subaru has passed on after over 220,000 miles, defiantly leaving me stranded in the road last week😅 This new(used) ride needs a name. Any suggestions?

There will be no deliveries of bread this week.

The last four legged member of our household has left us this week after 10.5 years together. Keira was adopted at 6 years old when we found her hiding behind a litter box. I laugh at the orange ball in the shelter picture because she genuinely never cared for playing and was a true snuggle bug. She lived in so many places and loved exploring anywhere new as long as her humans were there.

There is a finality to Keiras loss that I did not anticipate. There isn't another cat to feed or a need to sleep with arms positioned for a cuddle. There's no one on the bed waiting for us or watching birds. There's no more strategizing our life around her diabetic care or the constant need to wake in the middle of the night because this might be the night her blood sugar goes too low. All of our cat supplies are of no use anymore. The ghosts of cats passed. The bookends of my day have been removed and it's a bit disorienting.

It's so very difficult to realize how many actions and thoughts throughout daily life are tethered to another until they are no more. Until every single one of your furry companions are gone with no one left to take care of. Alain and I are the only energies in the house now for almost the first time since moving in together.

Our vets and techs were beyond words throughout this week with many past providers taking the time out of their work day to give Keira a final pet. To scratch her cheeks and tell her how cute she was one more time.

We always joked that Keira had enough spite to outlive all of the other cats despite being older and sicker and by God she did it. She wanted us all to herself and she did it.

For now we will shift onto a different path and remember the love that brought us here.

We have endless medical and general cat supplies as well as food. An extensive amount of knowlege on cat diabetes, ibd, kidney disease, and hyperthyroidism that we would love to pass along eventually. Please reach out if you need, otherwise everything will be heading to the 3 shelters of our cats. Keira🩶🤍 Onyx🖤 Ember🖤

Sourdough has been delivered to the Concord Food Co-op this morning! Mainly classics and a few loaves of everything and sesame🥖

The sunshine is getting longer(and a little warmer) which means applications are now open for the Canterbury Community Farmers Market! If being a vendor isn't your thing, consider becoming a member of the market instead!

This season is a big one. For 20 years you're friends and neighbors have coordinated and kept this market going each Wednesday. In celebration of this milestone, we're brewing up some ideas that will bring the community together to celebrate🥳

Its like a reunion every time I have the pleasure of coming back to El Salvador. This group is made up of some of the most kind hearted, top notch medical professionals. If only everyone could give their time and energy to a trip like this, the world would be a better place🌿

Who else enjoys the stillness during and after a snow fall?❄️ The deer are certainly enjoying the path we cut around our yard🦌

I love the cold, but I can't say I'm not very excited to escape to the warmth and sunshine of El Salvador. Most of the time will be in the OR, but having all of your meals outside and taking an hour after work to hang out in the warm courtyard is divine☀️

Bread has made it to the Concord Food Co-op! There will be no delivery next week with my trip, but I'll be up and running the following week

As I adjust to my new schedule, there will not be deliveries to the Concord Food Co-op this week or next week. Bread will be back on the shelves on 12/31!

Although probably assumed, I have decided to not do Christmas orders this year. It would be too much with my first 2 weeks of the new job and this will enable me to visit family for Christmas🎄

I appreciate everyone who has reached out wanting to order for the holidays and I know that you all would want me to take some time too☺️

Instead of bread pics, enjoy some of the new holiday decorations I've been making. Finally bringing some long term ideas to fruition❄️

Sometimes I look around my downstairs turned bakery and wonder how I got here and why, but I do know that each of my customers and market supporters/organizers and designated cookie scooper are the only reasons I need to keep going
