Tommy Dunn's Bakery - Retired/Disabled

Within a year we have lost our Father, Mother, and now a brother. Our hearts are broken, Thomas Dunn passed away yesterday. There wasn’t a day that went by since he became sick that he didn’t talk about missing something he loved and did his whole life. He was a true Baker through and through. It gave him a smile when people would run into him and tell him how much they loved his products. If you talked to him he would have told you that it was a hard life…. He went to bed in the daylight and then went to work when it was dark, never a normal life. He worked two lifetimes at that bakery, but never gave it up because in some way it made him happy filling everyone’s bellies with his donuts, bread, and pizza. The last few years of the bakery he worked extra hard on keeping up with the new creations, breakfast sandwiches, pizza and the Halfmoon cookies( #1 halfmoon in 2018). It hit him hard when he was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in 2021. He fought hard to be one of the lucky ones to get a miracle, but it never came. There must be another plan for my brother that God has in store for him. He has joined the other bakers in our family and we are sure they are having one hell of a bake-off up there together. Thank you to the community for supporting Tom and the family business. ❤️ May he rest in peace.

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the death of our mother Barbara Dunn who has touched many lives during her years of working at the bakery. We hope you remember her as we do, a woman full of kindness and compassion who always greeted everyone with a smile and a warm and witty hello.

To the individual or individuals who felt compelled for whatever reason to steal the Dunn’s Bakery sign from in front of the building causing damage in the process…..WHY??? Purpose??? Such hurtful people out there. As if we do not have enough going on, now we have to deal with this. We would like the sign returned and the damage to the building fixed. The police have been contacted and they are investigating. If anyone sees the sign or knows anything about who done this please contact the police.

Update: After reading the messages here on this post I should let everyone know that my brother Tom Dunn has been diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer. Please say some prayers as we need as many as we can get.

Good morning. We will not be opening back up in the middle of October. We started to get ready and we were hoping to be able to get going again so everyone could once again enjoy the goodies, but unfortunately the baker Tom Dunn was just diagnosed with 2 new medical issues that have to be taken care of. He is already scheduled for the first procedure on November 8th. The second one will follow after the more serious one is taken care of. Our plan is to be open in January 2022. This is not how we planned things to go. Please keep him in your thoughts and send some positive vibes. Here is to 2022!!! Please share to spread the word.

Good afternoon I just wanted to post that the owner/baker Tom Dunn just received approval from his heart doctor to have his back surgery on May 13th. We have not posted much and we were waiting for restrictions to be lifted. He has had some minor procedures done on his back and also tried physical therapy but nothing helped. On the 13th he will have major back surgery fusing his lumbar spine, L2 through L5. We should know something by the end of July on how his recovery went.
