I had so much fun doing this Girls Night In cookie decorating birthday party for a neighbor. I have to be honest, I didn't know how it would go with 8 girls, some as young as 6, but the girls did such a great job. They were good listeners and followed directions so well. I also had 2 fantastic parent helpers. We went step by step on the croissant, cupcake, and donut, and the girls got to be crrative with the freestyle oven mitt. Just look how great their cookies turned out!

The kids in my cookie club did such a great job with these frog and butterfly cookies. This was the 3rd session with this group and I can tell that they've really learned a lot.

For those who have been asking this is a program I participate in at a local Elementary school. Kids get to take part in special interest clubs during school hours- anything from Legos, to gardening, to dance. It gives the students fair opportunities to participate in classes and develop new hobbies and interests. There is no cost for the kids, and no requirement for parents to transport to activities or supervise.

This was my last session for the school year. It's been such a great opportunity for me, I absolutely love sharing my passion with these kids and I'm so proud of how well they do.

update: all kits have been claimed

I baked too many cookies and I have extra kits up for grabs. Must be picked up tonight or tomorrow.

$5 each.
Contains 1 frog and 1 butterfly cookie (both vanilla flavor), edible eyeballs, green and pink icing, and a disposable cookie scribe.

I do not have step by step instructions or video tutorials for these kits, but here's what I did.

1. Outline and fill the butterfly's body in green and trace the antennae.
2. Outline and fill the entire frog cookie in green and place the eyes onto the wet icing.

*wait 5-10minutes before moving on*

3. Outline and fill the butterfly wing in pink. Here's your chance to get creative- add designs with the green (but make sure you don't use it all). I used a wet on wet technique on mine.
4. Use the green to draw on the frogs mouth and nostrils. Use the pink to add speckles, freckles, or rosy cheeks.

I have some other tutorials on my youtube channel that might be helpful for inspo.

This 70th birthday set was so to make. My favorite cookie is the bell bottoms. I used my metal cookie scribe to scratch the texture into the dried icing.
