You guyyyyyyys! I’ve been experimenting with CHOCOLATE SOURDOUGH BREAD. And ohhhh man.

How do I explain this... don’t let the dark, chocolatey color fool you — this isn’t a super-sweet dessert bread.

It’s still very much sourdough: chewy, tangy, and deeply flavorful, but with cocoa worked into the dough for an amazing chocolate flavor without making the bread sugary. Semi-sweet chocolate chips add juuust enough sweetness here and there so it feels like a treat, but not like you’re eating cake for breakfast. (Although, if you eat cake for breakfast, I don’t judge.)

Basically: it’s sourdough, but chocolate. 🍫🍞

Also, the first two photos are regular-sized loaves, but the last photo is a mini loaf. It's like a little baby sourdough. Isn't she cute?

TBH, browning butter is sort of a pain in the ass extra step, but it's soooooo worth it. haha Also, it smells devine. Someone should make browned butter-scented candles.
