Our Easter Egger Chicken, Lily, laid her first egg! The color is like a robins egg blue. So pretty. Also it’s super tiny and cute! 🥰 🥚

Finally feeling a bit better. So here’s tonight’s fiery orange sunset, my cute little whimsical garden (my happy place 🥰), the grapes and apples that aren’t quite ready, and the beautiful freshly bloomed pink gladiolus that made my whole night 🫶🏼🌸

July will be an amazing month!! We will be at the Ridgefield Farmers Market on the 11th, 18th, and 25th! And we’ll be at the Hockinson Blueberry Festival on the 18th as well!

And the summer {well June anyway 😉} loaf is Strawberry Rhubarb!! And Shonna got the most likes for her flavor!
The most fun part about this is that the June loaf of 2025 was also Strawberry Rhubarb! Can’t wait to have this flavor at the markets for you all! And Congrats Shonna Shepherd ! I hope you like it! 💕🍓

Shout out time and a tiny glimpse into our lil farm life 🙂

Shout out:
made me this amazing Casa De Pollo sign for our coop! Is this not the coolest thing ever?!?!?!?! I legit love it so much and I’m am forever in awe over Alex’s talent and creativity! Thank you Duffey!

Story time:

Okay so back in April I was feeling a bit bored because I made the decision to switch commercial kitchens and it took a bit more time than anticipated so I didn’t have any events I could do and more time on my hands than usual.

I took advantage of this time when I went to Wilco one day to grab pellets for our pellet stove and saw some baby chics! (Also started a garden project but that’s a whole other post 😂)
I was impulsive. I got the first 4 chickies! I later went back and got 3 more 😅

Anyway, this meant they needed a coop! We had an old one in the yard covered in blackberry and it was so so dirty and run down. So we got to work and 6 to 8 weeks later (ish… who is counting?!?.. besides my wife 🤫). This is the result!

We have a little more to do, but these girls are all living their best life! AND so is the ROOSTER 🐓 that was sexed as a hen. Ooops!

So welcome all of the new members of the Robert’s family!

Rooster: HeiHei
3 largest Hens: Lady Featherington (aka Pen), Lily, and Cardi-Beak (aka side chick 🐥)

Our three smaller ones got their names from a magical series ∞ Ϟ 9¾ ♔ ⚯͛ △⃒⃘♡⚯͛ △⃒⃘ Ϟ ❾¾

Babies: Hedwig, Crookshanks, and Buckbeak (who we are guessing may also be a rooster! ( 😩)

So, now we are using our new kitchen, our chickens and roosters are enjoying the coolest coop we could make them, and my garden is thriving!

Thank you to the Duffey’s for helping with the painting and roofing 🎨! Thank you to our neighbors for helping with their brush hog! And thank you to my wife for always putting up with my grand ideas and enabling these behaviors! 😂 ❤️
