Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority is a co-ed service organization that aims to serve college bands and other music education programs. The sorority was founded at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1946. The Iota Kappa chapter of Tau Beta Sigma was chartered on April 13, 2008 at University of Virginia, following the fall 2004 debut of the Cavalier Marching Band. Sinc

e the chapter’s inception, seven classes of sisters have been welcomed into the sisterhood. IK works alongside the Beta Chi chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi in providing service to the CMB and the McIntire School of Music as a whole.

*Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs.
