Tips to clean your shoes properly
If you do not take care of your sneakers, they will wear out faster. Frequent maintenance should improve their life expectancy.
Grandmother’s tips and a panoply of products make cleaning easy
There are several methods of cleaning that are easily available and handy today. You have the option to choose from simple “grandmother’s techniques” to specialized products.
Choosing the right brush
A bristle brush that is neither too soft nor too stiff for the structural work. For washing with the toothbrush, soap or other cleaning fluids, do not hesitate to repeat the operations several times. After a first wash, wipe your pair with a cloth soaked in cold water. Then, wait until the sneaker dries a little. Finally, you can perform a second wash. To bleach the soles, the use of the toothbrush with toothpaste gives quite good results.
Use Magic Gum
This is the easiest method to clean white sneakers. It is found in the supermarket and is usually used to clean the walls.
Water, mild soap and bleach
In contact with bare feet, soles of flip-flops and soles become darker and feel bad. Clean them with a soaked cloth (and spun) soapy water with a few drops of bleach. Rinse with a damp cloth. Dry away from all sources of heat.
Try hydrogen peroxide
If the stains resist, if the plastic sole is really dirty, clean it by dabbing it with a cloth soaked in 30-volume oxygenated water with a few drops of ammonia or white alcohol vinegar.
Candle and water repellent do the trick
What to do when it is raining heavily, that you must imperatively go outside and that you only have light canvas shoes? There is, however, a simple trick to waterproof them quickly, provided you have a candle and a hair dryer. The solution is easy to implement and proven to be effective. It is enough to rub the cloth — flat areas and stitching — energetically with the candle, then to walk on the shoe the flow of a hair dryer. The tiny particles then begin to melt and the wax inserts into the core of the fiber. A few minutes later, once the wax is frozen, the shoe has become stiffer, but above all, it is perfectly waterproof.
