😳🥴 Please don't judge me for number 4!

Well hey there! Thought it was about time that I stop by and say hi! I'm your local cookie dealer.... I mean.... friendly neighborhood baker *wink wink*. Here are 5 facts you may not have known:

1⃣ The BEST candy in the world (and my personal fave) is Reese's (especially the holiday ones, like the eggs, Christmas trees, pumpkins, etc.). I'm willing to fight anyone over it! 😅

2⃣ My go-to for hot coffee is Wawa, hands down, but for iced coffee it's Dunkin' all the way! 👏

3⃣ I have both a KitchenAid mixer and a Bosch mixer. I love them both for different reasons, and, no, I haven't named them. 😆

4⃣ Parallel parking makes me super nervous, and I will 100% park further than necessary to avoid it! 🚗

5⃣ I have an atrocious amount of cookie cutters, and I'm not sad about it! 🤣

Life can be stressful. What's your go-to stress snack?! 👂😅

Between my day job has been especially busy lately, and my oldest is sick AGAIN. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I try not to stress eat, but my resolve is definitely weakened by the time I make it through bedtimes for the kids. Anyone else feel they can relate to this?

Celebrated my birthday with this gorgeous macaron cake from tonight! 🎂 YUM!!!! Fancy right?! We loved it!

Today our youngest turns 4! She loves Bluey (an adorable children's show that is fun for parents too), so I created this simple cake for her. 🎂💜👧🎁

I made the Bluey and Bingo characters, as well as the paw prints, as royal icing transfers. This wasn't my original plan/design, but sometimes plans change! 😅 It was made with a vanilla buttercream colored blue like the main character (who is a blue heeler puppy), and a black cocoa chocolate cake.

I'm NOT a professional cake baker, and I have sooooo much to learn. For my kids, though, I will stretch my limits and step out of my comfort zone. Working on Nora's birthday cake, baked with all my love! 🎂

We have some new faces following along! Welcome, and THANK YOU! That means it's time to show my face again and introduce myself:

Hi there! My name is Austin, and I opened Austin's Dreamy Desserts LLC, my licensed and insured home bakery, in April 2021. I've been baking for years, but finally started to crack open the secrets of decorating cookies during the pandemic shutdown in 2020. My husband and I renovated a finished room in our home so that all the ingredients and baked goods are stored separately from our family's kitchen space. Everyone needs a creative outlet, I believe, and this is mine! (And as a bonus, my "crafts" are edible and yummy.) 🍪🤤

I specialize in decorated cut-out cookies, iced with royal icing, which can be customized to virtually any theme! I also offer a variety of other baked goods, some of which are only offered certain times of year. My availability can be limited for custom orders, so I always recommend reaching out with an event date as far in advance as possible. In addition to custom orders, I usually participate in a few vendor events and host several holiday presales throughout the year. Have you ever had "throw away your recipe" cookies?! 🤔 Wait, WHAT??

I saw some friends this weekend, and there was a lot of laughter and snacking going on. I brought some of my soft-baked chocolate chip cookies to share. This wasn't the first time those same friends had had these particular cookies, so their genuine excitement and kind words warmed me even more than the fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies did! (Actually, now that I think of it, they were all gone before I could grab one myself. 😅) I know they were joking and exaggerating, but one of them said that, after trying these cookies previously, she "threw away [her] own cookie recipe." 🥰 She and her family loved them that much!

To be clear, I don't expect ANYONE to stop baking on their own just because I have a licensed bakery, nor am I under the impression that buying baked goods is always cost-effective or financially feasible for all families all of the time. (No need to throw away those recipes, friends!!!) And yet, it still reminded me how grateful I am for the friends and family who have supported me (and my small business) from the beginning! So, THANK YOU! ❤️

🦅 FLY EAGLES FLY! 🦅

Since the Eagles won on Sunday and we're heading to the Super Bowl, I'm pulling together cookie options to enjoy during the big game! 🏈🍪 Keep a close eye on my social media for those to launch later this week, as quantities will be limited. (Having Valentine's and the Super Bowl so close together clearly wasn't the idea of a Cookier/Baker! 😅🤦🏻‍♀️)

ANYWHO, this win and the upcoming Superbowl excitement has me reminiscing about a time in college when I got to tour the stadium and field! I won a scholarship sponsored by the Eagles and TEVA, via a sustainability essay contest. I was really proud to bring my parents along, since my Dad has always been a huge fan of the team! 🦅

Can I be honest with you really quickly?

This little machine sat unopened and unused for longer than I'd like to admit. Why? Because I was intimidated!!

It's an airbrush machine, and cookiers can use it to add shading, dimension, mix colors, or with stenciled to add text or patterns to cookie designs! I finally stepped out of my comfort zone to try it out on my Valentine's samples, and I'm so glad I did!!! It'll take practice to get better with it, but it wasn't as hard to use or to clean as I had built up in my mind. (I was invisioning sprayed coloring EVERYWHERE and a clog every few minutes!) What a relief!
