Gettin’ personal: When I find a rhythm in this business, I have a tendency to lock in and stay the course—come hell or high water. It’s both a strength and a weakness.
I’m so focused on executing I’m not able to see the big picture. There’s a part of me that wants to stick with what I know works. That has meant focusing heavily on our public event menus—the things I know how to execute, the things people already know us for, and the things that keep the business moving.
But somewhere along the way, I got consumed in the monotony. So much so, change felt like a burden.
For , I created our mocktail menu and a week later I remade it. I was tired of our usual choices (which are great, imo) but I knew I was capable of more. Something new.
These mocktails used ingredients like mango nectar, Italian lemon juice, ti leafs and dried pineapple slices to name a few. They were elevated and exciting—and they pushed my creativity. Guests stood in front of the menu contemplating for minutes! It made my heart soar.
What if I stopped only marketing what we currently do and started marketing what we’re actually capable of doing?
That shift feels uncomfortable. But maybe that’s the point.
Sometimes the biggest opportunity in your business isn’t something new you need to create. It’s something you’re already really good at that you simply haven’t taken the time to show people.
So here’s to stepping outside the rhythm and giving people a glimpse of what we can really do✨
