I sell out of a bakery cart at my address most Fridays & Saturdays, follow me for updates. Open for special orders anytime-cakes, decorated sugar cookies, etc. My love of baking started as a child, but it quickly fizzled out as a teenager when that “low-fat” trend of the mid 90’s became popular. That, coupled with learning how early bakers need to get up every day quickly shifted my college aspira
tions to designing apparel & product instead. Fast forward to my 40’s; I’d become much more health conscious, my body had a seriously hard time digesting processed foods and I have a child who is sensitive to not only processed sugar but food dyes. I restricted all things sugar and rarely baked for myself or my family. After a corporate layoff in 2023 I needed another creative outlet and baking started to inspire me again. It felt good to have a treat every now and again and seemed to make everyone else around me happier too. I kept hearing that I should turn this re-ignited passion into something real, start a side gig. The wheels started turning, but, I wanted to take a more natural approach and come up with unique flavor combinations you don’t normally see. I firmly believe that everyone should be able to have a sweet treat that doesn’t make you feel poorly afterwards. You should be able to pronounce every ingredient and know exactly what you are putting into your body. No, I am not a nutritionist, but I believe in the power of clean, healthy, balanced eating and recognize the joy a little treat can provide. Organic baked goods are hard to find and being the spontaneous person that I am, a pop-up roadside bakery came to mind. You won’t find any fluorescent frosting here, although it is eye catching, I’ll admit! Instead you’ll find homemade treats made with less sugar, natural plant-based dyes and all non-gmo and/or organic ingredients. So please, stop by; and when you take a bite, I hope to put that eyes closed “soooo good”, grin on your face, just like my 8 yr old has when I make him taste test! :)
Welcome to Crumbs on Cambridge. All the best,
Amy
p.s. all of the bakery packaging is either re-usable, home compostable or recyclable. Let’s take care of the planet the way we do ourselves.
