Sparkle in the Park

Sparkle in the Park Sparkle in the Park is a annual drive through christmas display that runs from the 1st Saturday after Thanksgiving thru New Years Eve. Admission is free.

The Display is free, donations accepted, and can be enjoyed from the warmth of your car. Come see thousands upon thousands of Christmas lights set up in nearly 50 holiday displays at Hopkins Park, Bear Lake from Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday the 26th, through New Year's Eve, December 31th. The beautifully lit displays include angels, Christmas trees, Santa and his reindeer, a salute to troops, sn

owmen, various animals and several Christmas scenes, all arranged outdoors in Bear Lake's lakeside campground park, just off US 31. Opening night festivities include tailgate chili, hot chocolate and cookies will be served free to all visitors, compliments of the Bear Lake Community. Santa will arrive at 6:30 p.m. and with the assistance of many Bear Lake helpers, with treats for all the boys and girls who visit. Sparkle in the Park is open nightly from 5pm to 10pm. However, a donation box is available for those who would like to contribute toward supplies for next year's displays. Sparkle in the Park is a partnership between the Bear Lake Promoters and the Bear Lake Village Council. Come out and enjoy one of the beautiful scenes of the Christmas season.

In Michigan, the official state uniform is a hoodie and shorts… because committing to the weather is a rookie mistake. 😭🌤️
It’s that mindset of, “Yeah it’s 35 right now… but give it a couple hours.”
The hoodie handles the lake breeze that cuts straight through you, and the shorts are for when the sun randomly decides to act like it’s July for 20 minutes.
You’ll see it everywhere—gas stations, Meijer runs, standing outside talking way too long, somebody grilling like they just got cleared for summer. No hesitation. No second guessing. Just vibes.
Because in Michigan, spring isn’t a season… it’s a negotiation.
You wake up in late winter, hit a surprise warm streak by lunch, and by evening you’re side-eyeing the sky like, “you better not do anything stupid.”
It’s not about fashion.
It’s about surviving a state where the lakes control the mood, the wind has an attitude, and putting the snow brush away is considered a bold personal decision. 😅

PLEASE DO NOT WALK THROUGH THE DISPLAYS !!

Un plugged means unsafe! Walking through the display at sparkle not only disturbs the lighting, timers, and enjoyment for everyone, it is also unsafe! Wet and electric don’t mix! Displays… are pretty to look at, BUT unsafe to walk thru. Please take advantage of the photo opts available, but use only those areas to get near the lights.
