Night before band camp = meal prep mode
Salads, protein shakes, snacks portioned out, lunches ready to grab and go. Nothing fancy, just making sure my girl has what she needs.
Here's something most people don't always realize about me — I don't just *understand* food allergies and sensitivities because I bake gluten-free for a living. I live it as a mom too. I know what it's like to lay everything out the night before because mornings are chaos and there's no room for "we'll figure it out." I know the mental math of making sure she has enough, that it's safe, and that if everyone else is passing around treats at camp, she's not the one left out or left watching.
It's a constant thing. You don't clock out of it. You just get really good at prepping ahead so she never has to feel different or forgotten.
So tonight it's lettuce, protein shakes, and containers lined up on the counter. Tomorrow she walks into camp with a full lunch and one less thing to worry about.
This is the quiet part of it nobody sees. But it's why I do what I do — for her, and for every kid and family living this same reality. 💚
