Late October Report: All sizes of fish are biting around the Baltimore area. Fish are slowly schooling in day after day trying to find the bait that has posted up in the rivers pretty heavy already. My daughter Leah shows us whats biting right now if you put in the work of jigging and swimbaiting the bay and rivers targeting these fish right now. Shes the best 10 yr old light tackle fisherman i know thats for sure. She bagged these three solid fish in just a couple hours along with a bunch of low 20s I pulled a few decent fish this week to try to keep up with her. These fish are anywhere from the 3-5 ft ledges, to the rock jettys, all the way down to the 50 ft shipping channels. Dont be afraid to leave the fleet of boats all trolling for the same fish and explore the structure and cover the rivers and bay have to offer. This is the time to venture off to find patterns and work them until you have good fish in the boat. Remember that tides and current affect the feeding and location of these fish so always try different spots with different tides. Shallow water dropoffs and river mouths are great places to start. There are fish at your favorite points and bars, you just have to get out from the pack and get on em. This weeks most fun fishing was most certainly the shallow water ledge fishing early in the am.
