For friends and family!
Hi Friends! It's been a little light on the posting here and I just wanted to update you all. For a few personal reasons I will have to close up shop for a while... I'm packing up my stuff for storage and I will be concentrating on other aspects of my life. I will hopefully continue to do some cakes for family but even that is to be determined. I love creating beautiful things, especially baked goods, and I will miss the hands-on creativity. I will leave this page open just for reference and for your viewing pleasure!
Best wishes to everyone and I appreciate all the support and good vibes from the last bunch of years!
xoxo Debbie 🎂

Well, I did it. I made a change. Deciding to change my page was easy; I never really liked the name EdenTreats (no offense to the dear person who thought of it!). The name was chosen as a sort of double entendre, for 'treats like the taste of Eden', and because we lived on a street called Edenvale. We can keep the notion of the former, but the latter isn't relevant anymore. We moved to a new neighborhood right around the time DH started a new business. We have new neighbors and friends, and started the new chapter of grandparenthood. Change can be good, but for some reason I kept pushing off with the new name. Call it plain procrastination, but maybe I was tapping into a deep-seated fear of change, which I'm sure is natural to some degree. Or we can leave it at I was just plain too busy (uh-huh).
Then someone recently asked me what I call this little shindig of mine, and for the fourteenth time the name was followed by "but I really don't like the name and I really have to change it". Then my brain said "ok, then do it!!". I accepted the challenge.
I thought of the name Custom Crumbs while I was baking a cake, and at the same time thinking about the person whom it was for. The concentration on the person's likes and needs was going into every crumb. You can feel it and taste it! Plus it's got that cute little alliteration thing going.
Here's to change for the better, and thanks all for keeping posted!
A double-barrel, vanilla cake with hand-painted roses and wafer paper flowers, for a lovely lady, friend's mom, sixth grade teacher, and huge Downton Abbey fan! Happy birthday!
Uncle Steve turned 70 and despite the fact that it was so close to Passover, I managed to get a cake in for him! U. Steve has studied fungi his whole career so he got some lovely chanterelle mushrooms, twigs, and grass (all sweet and edible!). Cake is chocolate layer with a ganache coating, fondant bark that was airbrushed. Happy birthday!
This cake completes the trio of transportation of planes, trains, and automobiles, traveling via Amtrak from Baltimore to NYC, my nerves a bit frazzled, but it made it! Matching cookies were placed on top with the little spotlights to emphasize the Oscars theme for an awesome party. Cake was all chocolate with a ganache coating and buttercream filling.
What's next, drone? Hot air balloon? ;-)
Travel themed cake! Marble with chocolate fudge frosting, covered in chocolate ganache and fondant. This cake "travelled" by sled to the customer's car!
A mod cake for a 25th (silver) anniversary for a great couple! Top tier is vanilla with meringue buttercream filling and bottom is for layers of chocolate cake with fudgy frosting.
Yummy cake for a yummy girl!!
Happy Sweet 16th birthday to our dear Shevi! You've brought lots of music and song to our family!
Happy Chanukah!
Kind of a funky-ish cake....a last minute order and I couldn't decide on a design so I did all four lol! Anyway I'm happy to be back on my feet and trying to figure these out....Mazel Tov to Esther and Aharon on your engagement!
Hi, all. I'm recovering now from meniscus surgery I'll be out for a while! Looking forward to getting back on my feet, back to the gym, back to cakes and cookies!
For a happy birthday girl..... girl @ ❤! ( I could have used this fabulous hairdresser to do the doll's hair for me!) It's always nice when I know the person I'm doing the cake for because every crumb becomes "custom"!
