Sarah here. I don't know about you guys, but one question that absolutely grinds my gears is, "What's for dinner?"

Back in the 90s, you made a sandwich or a TV dinner and moved on with your day.

Now I get menu consultations from three different children before dinner.

But I digress.

The kids are home. The kitchen is hot. Motivation is low.

We've got some new weekday food bundles ready to save you from at least one round of dinner negotiations.

Monday through Friday, 4pm to 7pm.

Hey guys, we need to have a conversation…

Summer has never been a profitable season for our business but this year has hit extremely hard. In full transparency, we’ve been having drastically low sales which is not even enough to cover supply costs let alone the other overhead costs we have. We try very hard to keep our prices reasonable but financially this is a very hard business to be in.

Our business is a very small, family-run operation. We are a mother/daughter team who do everything ourselves with one part-time employee working the front counter. We make nearly everything we sell completely from scratch, we clean up after ourselves and we wash our own dishes. It's ALOT for just two people who work on their feet 10-12 hours a day 6 days a week.

We WANT to be here. We want to be a part of your family's memories and celebrations. We want to make a difference in our community and we have put roots down here. We want to grow with you and we hope that we show that in the work that we do. Our reputation matters to us, DEARLY. We GENUINLEY CARE about customer satisfaction and serving others.

Other businesses are having to change their hours because of sales and we are honestly in the same boat. We wanted to be open for the after-work crowd but we only see one or two customers from 4-5:30. We understand that we can't please everybody and adhere to everyone's schedule preferences. However, we haven't been seeing that late afternoon crowd.

We currently aren't in the position to hire employees and can't both be here 24/7 so we are also looking at adjusting our hours to open earlier in the morning and close around 3 or 4pm.

Before we make any hasty decisions we wanted to bring this to you, our customers, and get your feedback on what would be the best option for us to gain walk-in sales but not push our physical bodies as hard as we have been. Last weekend one of us was in the ER in the morning and then back to the bakery to fulfill orders. We, the owners, do not take paychecks for ourselves. For our health and family, something has to change.

This isn't a "woe is me" post. We need positive business solutions to run more productively. We truly want to hear your ideas, and please be kind and understand that we are real people who work VERY hard...
