✨ Let’s normalize small orders and being happy about them ✨

I always want to be transparent — I use the best ingredients I can find, and I pour a lot of work and love into every single loaf and bake. But I also want to be honest about the reality behind it: I don’t sell every week, and that’s okay.

If you’re just starting your own little micro bakery and you’re not selling out every time (or even getting a ton of orders), please know this — it’s okay, darling. Don’t rush it. Pray about it. Keep showing up, and everything will flow in its own time.

It’s so easy to compare ourselves to others (trust me, I do it too), but the truth is — we’re all on different paths. Some people thrive in the constant hustle, and that’s great for them. For me, I’ve found peace and joy in both the thrill of big orders and the sweetness of small ones.

This week, my orders were small and it felt beautiful. Stress free. I even got to make breakfast and enjoy a slow morning with my family. 💛

So here’s to small victories, trusting God’s timing, and celebrating every step of the journey. You got this, friend! 🫶

Starting next week, I will no longer be taking orders through Hotplate. All orders will go back to being placed through direct messages. 💌

As much as I loved the convenience of Hotplate (like the automatic texts when orders were ready), it’s taken away from the part I truly love—the connection and communication with you all. Plus, the extra fees on both ends just don’t feel right.

Here’s how it will work moving forward:
• 🍞 I’ll post my weekly menu on my stories.
• 📩 You can send me your order via direct message up until Friday at noon.
• 💳 Payment will be due at the time of ordering via Venmo or Zelle (orders won’t be saved without payment).
• Pickups remain the same: Sundays between 4–7 PM from the bread storage area.

I appreciate you all so much for supporting me, my bread, and my little family. 💛 I’m excited to get back to chatting with you directly when you order—it’s one of my favorite parts of this small business.

Hi 👋
With a new school year just around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself and share a little life update with you all 💛

My name is Brittany, and I’m the proud owner and heart behind The Honest Crust. I run a small-batch, home-based microbakery where I handcraft sourdough bread, scones, and maybe a few more goodies in the near future. I’ve been baking with sourdough since 2022, learning, growing, and falling in love with the process of making beautiful, nourishing bread.

I’m also a wife and mom to three little ones: ages 6, 3, and 14 months. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for the past six years, and just seven months ago, I took a leap and started this little business of mine. It’s been such a joy to share my love for sourdough with you, and I’m so grateful for the way this community has embraced it.

This year, our family is entering a new season. After much thought, we’ve made the decision to homeschool. I’ll be teaching First Grade and TK from home. It’s a big change, but one we’re really excited about. That also means my baking schedule may shift a bit in the coming months. I’m not exactly sure how yet, but I promise to keep you in the loop when that happens.

Whether you’re here following the journey, cheering me on, or supporting The Honest Crust through your weekly orders — thank you. Your kindness and encouragement have meant everything to me. I truly couldn’t do this without you.

Let’s talk about something I care a lot about — my pricing and ingredients.

My classic and sandwich loaves are $13, and inclusion loaves like jalapeño cheddar and cinnamon chip are $15. I know everyone prices differently, and I respect that — but I wanted to share why my prices are what they are.

I use ingredients I fully stand behind:
•100% organic high-protein bread flour (13.5% protein) from Central Milling in Utah
•Redmond’s ancient sea salt
• Filtered water
• Plus real, quality inclusions — nothing cheap or artificial

Sourdough is more than just “flour, water, and salt.” The type and quality of each ingredient truly matters — and I choose the best because I believe you deserve the best.

I’ve done the math, and honestly, most of what I make goes right back into flour, packaging, and supplies. I’m not in this to make a big profit — I’m doing this because I genuinely love the bread I make and sharing it with you all means everything to me.

And I just want to take a second to say:
To my OG customers who’ve been with me from the start — thank you.
To the new faces who’ve found me recently — thank you.
Every single order I receive humbles me to my core. I’m already a pretty humble person, but seeing someone choose me to be their baker, choose my bread for their table… it’s something I never take for granted.

I know $13 isn’t the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. I respect whatever choice you make. But I want you to know that when you support The Honest Crust, you’re getting bread made with care, with intention, and with ingredients I fully believe in.

I may not be everyone’s cup of tea — but I will always stay true to what this is all about: honest bread, real ingredients, and love in every loaf.
