Steal my cake idea for your next Sing movie celebration!

This cake was made for a little boy turning four who absolutely loves the movie Sing.
His mom wanted something extra special to bring his favorite characters and music to life.
To be honest, I hadn’t watched the movie before — so I had to google it first to catch the vibe! Once I saw the colors, lights, and music theme, I knew exactly what to do.

I created this show-stopping cake featuring:
☑️ Blue buttercream base
☑️ Yellow and silver fondant stars in different sizes
☑️ Handmade fondant microphone
☑️ Fondant keyboard at the front
☑️ Music notes in various sizes
☑️ Sing logo with fondant letters and sugar pearls
☑️ Paper cake topper for the final spotlight touch

Every detail was inspired by the fun, sparkle, and stage magic of Sing.

Here’s how I made this elegant wedding cake.

A light vanilla sponge with fluffy vanilla cream — simple, classic, and full of flavor.
For the outside, I created a soft blue watercolor design to match the couple’s wedding colors — blue, gold, and white.

I added a few gold sugar pearls for a subtle shimmer and finished it with fresh blue and white flowers, the same ones used in the bridal bouquet.

An elegant design with soft blue tones, golden accents, and floral details — timeless and romantic.

Every detail was made to reflect their special day.

The little things matter when it comes to sponge cake.
If you’ve ever had a flat, dense, or crumbly sponge—these might be the quiet mistakes behind it.

Here are 3 small tips I wish more people talked about:

Sift after you weigh.
Sifting before adds too much air and throws off the measurement.

Don’t rotate the cake too early.
Moving the pan before the structure sets can deflate or crack the sponge.

Use a serrated knife to slice.
It cuts through the soft crumb without tearing or squashing your layers.

Where My Passion for Baking Truly Began

My love for baking started in my Aunt Irma’s cozy kitchen.
She wasn’t just a baker—she was an artist who poured love into every cake she made. I was lucky enough to learn from her at a young age, surrounded by the scent of vanilla, warm ovens, and laughter.

Every birthday, she would create beautiful cakes just for us—cakes that didn’t just taste good, but made you feel truly special. Years later, after becoming a professional pastry chef, I baked a birthday cake for her. Seeing her joy and pride was a moment I’ll never forget.

That day, I realized baking is so much more than mixing ingredients and following steps. It’s a way to show love, care, and gratitude—one slice at a time.

Since then, it’s been my tradition to bake a unique birthday cake for every friend and family member I love. Each one is designed just for them, using their favorite flavors to make every celebration even more personal and unforgettable.

Thinking about joining my Apple Strudel Class?
Here are some of the most common questions I get—answered for you!

1. Is it a live or recorded class?
Both! In the live class, you’ll get a pre-recorded video showing how to make the strudel dough. Then we’ll do the rest—making the filling, roasting breadcrumbs, stretching, and filling—together in real time.
I also have a full recorded class so you can watch it whenever you want and as often as you like.

2. Can I ask questions during the class?
Of course! I’ll show you each step first, then it’s your turn. I’ll watch you and help if needed—so you can be sure your strudel turns out beautifully.

3. Do I need certain tools?
No special tools required. You can make the dough with a stand mixer or by hand. A rolling pin (or even an aluminum foil tube) works for rolling out the dough. You’ll also need a brush for butter, plus a cutting knife and board. That’s it!
