In all the years we have been operating, there is one cake flavor we have NEVER received an inquiry or request for! What is it?

RED VELVET!

Although Google will tell you Red Velvet is a popular wedding cake choice, we have not seen the practical evidence of its popularity. The flavor is quite polarizing- different people have different opinions on what makes a red velvet cake amazing, so this makes this flavor not the safest pick for your wedding.

We are happy to make custom cake flavors for our customers though …. Even if it’s Red Velvet 😘 Maybe one day we will get that first request!

My goodness. We have so many photos to share from this amazing year! But Ksenia has been slacking at her social media duties 😁 Don’t we all get a little tired of Instagram sometimes?

This cake and this wedding must be shared though! Big congratulations to Hayley and Logan on their lovely wedding! Their wedding was one of the most beautiful we have seen this year. The pastel colors had us in awe ✨

How much wedding cake do you need to plan on providing for your guests?

The answer isn’t as straightforward, but we will give you some ideas based on our experience.

🍰 Providing a slice of cake to 80% of your RSVPed guests is still a good rule of thumb.

🍰 But what if you are serving plated dinner? Then the recommendation will be a slice of cake per guest, so 100% guest count.

🍰If you are providing additional desserts, you may consider slightly lowering your cake servings number, but it all depends your preferences.

🍰At the end of the day, you know your family and friends the best. Some families are crazy about cake. Some are not. Those unique dynamics need to be taken into consideration!

Buttercream gives that soft, elegant look, while fondant offers a smooth, flawless finish.

The opinions are divided! Some people go crazy for fondant. Some - don’t like the sweetness and can only accept the buttercream.

One thing to remember is that fondant only goes on the outside of the cake. The filling of the cake stays the same - creamy buttercream, fruit jams, curds, and ganaches. So every guest usually gets a sliver of fondant on their plates.

Ultimately, the decision is yours.

Both offer a lovely, but different finish. Which one speaks to your wedding day vision?
