How do I feel about my heritage?
I’m half Filipino, half Mexican. I was never ashamed of my heritage or culture, I just always tried to fit in and not stand out. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to embrace and be proud my features that make me uniquely who I am.
When I think of things I love most about being Filipino, it all goes back to family. Big gatherings with so much delicious food, aunts and uncles being goofy and making me belly laugh, karaoke in the living room until past midnight, everyone smiling and genuinely enjoying each other’s presence. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
I’m so glad captured the first picture that honors my grandma who passed away over a year ago. She was the matriarch of the family and I have her to thank for so much 💛
