🚨🥲🚨 a PSA for soon to be brides

If there is only 1 thing I can beg of you for your wedding reception layout, let it be this;

CAKE PLACEMENT MATTERS

Please 😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 discuss this with your venue, with your planner, with your family, and your groom. WHERE you put the cake on display is SO important.

In this carousel of photos you can see there are (mostly unedited) pictures of cakes against a plain solid background and cakes with a very busy or not solid (literally in front of a window 🫥) background. It's so easy to see that the cakes with a solid background stand out and look so so much better for photos.

There are of course some outliers like cakes placed as a center piece in a room for the focal point, but in general, the surrounding area should be PLAIN.

You've invested so much time, effort, and money into a delicious cake that you'll be taking some really cute photos with your spouse, let's make sure it's placed correctly to truly showcase not only our craftsmanship but get you the best photos that you're paying your photographer thousands of dollars to take! They can only work with what they have, and goodness they can work some magic, but there are some things that just can't be saved in Photoshop. So please! Put your cake against a plain background with minimal shadows- the brighter the better but never in direct sunlight!
