Bites N Sites is all about finding joy in life through food, travel and adventure. That delightful bristle that comes with visiting a new place or introducing your palate to something new. Spain 🇪🇸 (well, technically NOT Spain but a 🇬🇧 British Overseas Territory) part 5: Gibraltar 🇬🇮

We hopped in a taxi tour and made our way to the top of the Rock with unbelievable views of the Mediterranean, Spain, and even Morocco 🇲🇦 (Africa) in the distance.

Exploring Saint Michael’s Cave was incredible — the massive formations and the famous “Angel” inside the cave were surreal. We also walked through the historic Great Siege Tunnels and got a glimpse into Gibraltar’s fascinating military history carved right into the mountain.

Of course, the stars of the day were the Barbary macaques 🐒 roaming freely and stealing tourist’s food around the Rock. We wrapped up the afternoon strolling down Main Street, soaking in the British-meets-Mediterranean vibe with shops, pubs, and plenty of charm. We walked across the active Gibraltar runway to get back to Spain.

Spain 🇪🇸 Part 4: Ronda and Setenil

Ronda is a whitewashed city perched on a 100-meter gorge, with the iconic Puente Nuevo bridge above it all. We walked the Moorish quarter, and visited one of the oldest Bullfighting rings in history.

About 30 minutes away is Setenil de las Bodegas — arguably even more surreal. This village was literally built into the rock, with houses and businesses embedded under the overhanging cliffs of the Río Trejo gorge. Walking down those narrow streets with rock looming overhead is one of the most unique experiences in all of Spain

Spain 🇪🇸 Part 2: Toledo. Perched on a hill an hour from Madrid is the incredible city of Toledo, a World Heritage site also known as the the “City of the Three Cultures” for its historical coexistence of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities. Had an incredible night at — easily one of the sexiest dining spots in Atlanta right now. The ambiance was stunning, the energy was perfect, and every dish was memorable. The clay pot chicken completely stole the show, but the Korean beef tartare, amberjack crudo, and seabass were all phenomenal too. And the terra cotta dessert was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Atlanta’s food scene keeps getting better. 🔥🍷✨

Tried for the first time and absolutely loved it. The ceviche was incredibly fresh, the paella was packed with flavor, and the pisco cocktails were the perfect finishing touch.
